Horizon Zero Dawn Gets Surprising New PC Update

The PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn has received an unexpected update today, which is available to all players. The first installment in the Horizon series, Horizon Forbidden West, is still being supported on PC, despite the fact that the game will be published on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 later this month.
Developer Guerrilla Games has been supporting the game since its release on PC in 2020. And despite the fact that there aren’t a significant number of new changes in today’s new update, it does continue to improve the core game in a number of important ways. This latest update for Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, taken as a whole, corrects a variety of visual issues that have been occurring with the game. One example of these modifications is an improvement in VRAM management. Another is an improvement in clipping and other assets that appear in the game environment. In addition, Guerrilla has resolved a bug that was related to certain AMD graphics cards and was causing issues for some users. Again, the update isn’t really significant, but it does make Horizon Zero Dawn far more playable on a variety of different PC configurations. In the first place, it’s fantastic to see this update come about because there are bound to be a large number of people who are eager to catch up on Horizon Zero Dawn before Forbidden West gets released. And while many of these gamers are likely to be playing the game on a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, it’s encouraging to see that Guerrilla isn’t forgetting about those who prefer to play on a computer rather than a console. Sony is giving away one of the best PlayStation 4 titles for free to some PlayStation Plus subscribers. This week, Sony announced the free PlayStation Plus titles for the month of March, and for the third month of 2022, PS Plus customers will receive the best collection of games so far this year. Ghostrunner, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, Team Sonic Racing, and Ark: Survival Evolved are among the titles on the schedule. However, this is not the whole list of games available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers. These are the titles that subscribers in North America and Europe can look forward to seeing. In Japan, however, PlayStation Plus customers are not receiving Ark: Survival Evolved, but rather something more enjoyable. To fill in for Ark: Survival Evolved, PlayStation Plus customers in Japan will be able to play Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons during the month of March. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was launched in 2013, and it was Josef Fares’ first experience working in the video game industry. Among his other works are A Way Out (2018) and It Takes Two (2021), the latter of which was named Game of the Year at the 2021 The Game Awards as well as the D.I.C.E Awards the following year. Lastly, as for Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, it is an adventure game that was produced by Starbreeze Studios, as opposed to Fares’ next two games, which were developed by Hazelight Studios, which was the team that Fares formed after his success with Brothers:
A Tale of Two Sons. When it was first released, the game received a Metacritic score of 90, which is quite high.Earlier this week (January 19), the developer announced the news on its website, which coincided with the release of Patch 1.10. In order to devote more resources to the production of the future title, Horizon Forbidden West, the company has decided to reduce the frequency of Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition PC updates.
A sequel to the critically acclaimed game Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West is a widely anticipated release. Aloy, the protagonist of the previous title, will continue his quest to put an end to a mystery illness that is killing everyone it comes into contact with in the future title as well.
In the case of Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, Patch 1.10 will be the final big update. The patch includes a performance enhancement that saves users up to 250 MB of VRAM on AMD GPUs and several crash fixes. Besides graphical changes that remedy the game’s poor resolution in windowed mode, wrongly scaled menus and loading screens, the update also adds other user interface (UI) improvements.
While reassuring fans that, despite their fresh attention on Horizon Forbidden West, Guerrilla Games intends to keep an eye on their “community spaces in the same manner as before,” Please see this link for the complete list of patch notes. However, no firm release date has been confirmed for Horizon Forbidden West, which is presently scheduled for release on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. When Sony’s Future of Gaming event took place in June 2020, they revealed the sequel. Guerrilla Games has officially released Patch 1.10 for Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, which includes bug fixes as well as performance improvements. Download the patch now! Future fixes, on the other hand, should not be expected to be released as often. Players on the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn have no doubt taken notice of how swiftly Guerilla has been releasing patches and making improvements to the game’s overall experience. For a long time, we’ve received a new patch at least once a month, with 1.06 arriving in October, 1.07 and 1.08 arriving in November, and 1.09 arriving in December, among other releases. Following 1.10, however, according to IGN, the scenario changes. In a statement released this week, Guerrilla noted that “while our team continues production on our future project, Horizon Forbidden West,” the company will “transition to less frequent updates for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC after this patch.”
As always, we will continue to monitor our community spaces, so please be aware of this. Despite Patch 1.10 merely correcting two crashes, implementing a single performance upgrade, and adding a handful of graphical improvements, the game is in a very stable state on the PC. In terms of exploring and appreciating the vast world on offer, less frequent patches will make little difference.
