Horizon Zero Dawn was released in 2017, which seems like a lifetime (five years ago). With a large number of key characters, factions, and worldbuilding, it was a game with a lot of lore that could be tough to recollect even after so many years. The bad news is that you’ll need to recall a lot of the events of the first game if you want to fully understand Forbidden West. The good news is that my goal with this tutorial is to assist you in any way I can. Aloy is the protagonist of the Horizon story, a flame-haired outcast from the East who saves the world.
