Earlier in June, the Indian government imposed a ban on 59 Chinese applications, and as of today, the government has suspended 47 additional applications that were running as clones of the prohibited applications. The names of the newly blocked applications have not yet been made public by the authorities, but a formal list is expected to be released shortly. There has been a great deal of concern raised by users about the software that may be included in this list.
Along with the initial prohibition, the authorities also prohibited several Chinese-linked mobile games, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and the Clash of Kings, though games such as PUBG Mobile and a few others were allowed to continue to operate in the country. Among the mobile applications that have been accused of being developed by a Chinese developer is the popular Call of Duty mobile game. In order to better understand Call of Duty Mobile, let us quickly review its history and discover who is behind the game corporation.
Is COD Mobile Chinese?
Call of Duty is one of the most popular video game franchises in the world, with a large fan base all over the world. The developers also released a free-to-play version of the game for Android and iOS smartphones last year, which has proven to be extremely popular in the mobile gaming world.
COD Mobile is a mobile game developed by Activision, a technology company based in the United States. The game, on the other hand, was developed in collaboration with TiMi Studios, which is a subsidiary of Tencent Games. For those who are unfamiliar with Tencent, the company is a massive Chinese multinational corporation that is also responsible for the production of the popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile. Despite Tencent owning only a 5% stake in Activision, it is impossible to ignore the fact that the latter still owns a portion of the game, which could result in its suspension for any type of rule violation.
Is Call of Duty Mobile banned?
Despite reports to the contrary, Call of Duty Mobile is still available for download on both Google Play and the App Store. Everyone interested in downloading the game can still do so by going to the appropriate application store and downloading it there. As previously stated, the Chinese government has not yet released an updated list of prohibited Chinese applications or issued a statement on the subject. It is impossible to tell whether or not Call of Duty: Mobile will be included on the list until that time.

Chinese apps have been banned.
While the list of 47 blacklisted programs has not yet been released, there have been rumours that some of the banned Chinese apps may include names such as AliExpress, Ludo World, PUBG, and others. However, nothing has been confirmed at this time. Tik Tok, CamScanner, and UC Browser, to name a few popular Chinese applications, had previously been blocked by the authorities in the country. The following is the official list of the 59 Chinese applications that were banned last month by the Chinese government.
There has been a one-day delay in the release date of Call of Duty: Black Ops 5.
Both Call of Duty: Black Ops II: Cold War and Call of Duty: Black Ops III: Warzone are on the verge of releasing new seasons, but they aren’t quite as close as they were in the past. Rather than releasing the season 5 patch on Friday, Treyarch announced on Wednesday that it would delay the release by 24 hours, meaning that it would not be available until Friday—or as late as Thursday in some time zones—instead of Friday.
Earlier this week, Treyarch revealed the new features for Call of Duty Season 5, announcing that the game would include a new game mode focused on betraying your friends to the opposition. Among other things, the season will include five new multiplayer maps and a slew of new weapons, including the TEC-9 assault rifle, the EM2 assault rifle, and the Marshall handgun, among others. Some of this content will be available when the season is officially launched, while other parts will have to wait until the mid-season Reloaded patch is released, as has been the case with every season before.
As a result of the delay, players will now have an additional day to complete the game’s season 4 battle pass, which is a welcome relief considering how inconvenient it is to have to wait for new content. Season 5 will start after that day has passed, and Activision has already released a teaser trailer for the new season to help people get excited about it.
According to Activision, the fifth season of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War will premiere on Friday, August 13 at 12 a.m. If there are no more delays, the time will be Eastern Time.
Several allegations have been made against Activision Blizzard in a lawsuit filed by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing in July, including that it maintains a toxic workplace environment that is particularly hostile to women, that it pays women less, that it subjects women to sexual harassment, and that perpetrators are not adequately punished. It was not mentioned in Treyarch’s statement about the changes that had occurred during the game’s development. A more in-depth explanation of the claims against Activision Blizzard can be found in Polygon’s breakdown of the situation.
According to Activision, the reason for the postponement of season 5 is a problem with the testing. It will be released on Friday, August 13th, along with the fifth season of Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War and Warzone. Activision told Polygon in an email that this is because of a problem with testing that was found earlier in the week.
